Bainbridge blotter | Neighborhood feud

Selected reports from the Bainbridge Island Police Department blotter.

Thursday, June 25

7:35 a.m. A 63-year-old Bainbridge Island man was thrown from his bicycle as he rode north on Bucklin Hill Road approaching Eagle Harbor. He was riding downhill and lost control and fell, striking his head on the pavement. The man was not wearing a helmet at the time. A witness stated she was behind the rider and also going north and it appeared he was going too fast, tried to brake, and lost control.

The man was taken to a hospital.

1 p.m. A vehicle struck a building on Point Monroe Drive after a 68-year-old woman lost control of her 1987 Mercedes 560SL as she pulled out of her garage. The car lurched forward, she said, and she lost control and struck multiple cement planters and then her neighbor’s house.

The driver was apologetic and freely admitted the incident was her fault.

Police assisted in moving the Mercedes away from the building and both parties exchanged insurance information.
