SEATTLE – Playing against the Mercer Island-based Blackfish team, the Kavu men’s lacrosse team scored a 10-9 win and brought home the Pacific Northwest Men’s State Championship Sunday at Queen Anne Bowl Playfield.
The Kavu team boasts seven former Bainbridge High players and currently holds the record for the most number of state championships in the league, according to team spokesman Mark Lacy.
The game was a tense affair, with the victory easily feasible by either team until the final seconds.
The win left the team with an 8-3 league record this season.
