Haizlip to take over as BHS boys basketball Head Coach

BAINBRIDGE – Bainbridge High School officials have announced the hiring of Steve Haizlip as the new boys basketball team Head Coach.

Haizlip will replace Scott Orness, who announced his intent to leave the program early last month. Orness accepted the Head Coach position with the North Kitsap High boys basketball program.

Haizlip brings to the BHS program much experience. He was previously the Head Coach of the Newport High boys basketball team. “Bainbridge is very fortunate to have a coach of his character, ability and acumen on our staff,” said BHS athletic director Kaycee Taylor. “We are all just excited to see what Steve can do with our program.””Since he comes from the KingCo league he knows what it takes to coach at that level,” Taylor added. “Haizlip has been the Head Coach of a dynamic and successful program for a number of years. Also, since Steve has great connections to the community, he will be a part of Spartan sports for years to come.”
