The Bainbridge High varsity boys basketball team came up short Friday against the visitors from Garfield and were bested 76-61.

Garfield led immediately as the Spartans seemed to struggle to find their groove.

The home team made significant strides, especially in the second half, and made up much of the ground lost.

They just ran out of time after that, however.

Several key starters were benched for health reasons, and BHS Coach Scott Orness said rest and recovery was the standing order for the weekend.
