Wednesday, Sept. 10
1:35 p.m. A threatening voicemail was left on a resident’s home phone. She said the man had an accent and he claimed he was with the IRS. He said she owed money to the treasury department.
5:20 p.m. A mountain bike was taken from the back of a Chevrolet Tahoe while it was parked at the owner’s residence. The bike was attached to the car by a carrier.
Wednesday, Sept. 17
4:10 p.m. Police were dispatched to a vehicle that was seen weaving all over the road while heading south on Highway 305. The caller said the elderly woman would drift to the right shoulder, cross the fog line and then weave back to the left to the center line.
Officers caught up with the car at a bank and witnessed the same weaving up High School Road. The driver was also going 10 mph in a 25 mph zone.
After running the plates, officers found the driver had a suspended license due to refusing to take a driving exam. Police were familiar with the vehicle and recalled that they had requested the woman re-test several months ago after receiving a similar call about the woman’s driving.
Police pulled the car over and approached the woman. She was extremely hard of hearing to the point where the officer had to yell in her ear. She also showed signs of dementia.
Officers drove the woman home.
