More than 4,000 PSE customers lose power during outages this week

More than 300 Bainbridge Island residents may have had to leave their home to watch the Seahawks season opener Thursday evening after a power outage that lasted about 10 hours.

It was one of two power outages for Puget Sound Energy customers on Bainbridge this week.

The first also came at a bad time: early in the morning on the first day of school for Bainbridge students.

PSE responded to a blackout caused by a tree in power lines around 2 a.m. Wednesday that affected 3,800 homes.

Electricity was restored two hours later, around 4:30 a.m.

Thursday’s outage lasted a bit longer.

About 390 Bainbridge customers lost power around 1:30 p.m. after another tree came down on the wires along Point White Drive.

Power was restored in three segments.

The first 44 customers had electricity back at 2:53 p.m.

Another 335 customers didn’t get power in their homes until 11:06 p.m.

The remaining households were back online at 11:36 p.m., according to PSE.
