It was a week of very visible weather here on Bainbridge Island.

A spectacular Northwest sunset kicked off the week on Sunday, July 13. Things were bright and sunny – some might even say too warm – for a while, with a sudden and unexpected temperature shift over the Sound creating some extremely thick fog in the afternoon on Tuesday, July 15.

At least two ferry sailings to Seattle were delayed by the visibility impairment. That fog cleared pretty quickly and Wednesday was yet another in a picturesque series of summer days.

By Thursday things had cooled considerably, a trend that is expected to consider through the weekend according to the National Weather Service’s Seattle office.

Saturday is expected to reach a high of only 72 degrees with a 50 percent likelihood for “chance showers.” Sunday is even cooler with an expected high of 71 degrees, but has only a 30-percent chance for showers.
