Reaching out to tennis players of all ages and levels, from young adults or middle aged players just learning the game to accomplished young competitors and skilled octogenarians who have been playing all their lives, Bainbridge Community Tennis Association tries to provide programming to fit most players’ needs.

The nonprofit’s summer agenda is to engage adults in recreational tennis play, building community along the way. BCTA runs New and Returning Player free clinics on Saturday mornings and Tuesday evenings throughout the month of July as a way to reach people wanting to learn to play or wishing to pick up the game where they left it off. All you need to join in is a pair of court-style shoes.

BCTA also provides doubles play for its 100-plus members on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings, offering both social and competitive programs for beginner, intermediate and advanced levels. Details of these programs are available at www.bainbridgecta.com, where interested parents may also find descriptions of BCTA’s junior programs.

Adult doubles is held at the Bainbridge High School tennis courts. An on-site BCTA program coordinator organizes play. Participants sign up weekly in advance, and all programs are free. Nonmembers are also welcome to join in, but must also sign up in advance by contacting BCTA chair, Julie Riely at bainbridgecta@gmail.com.
