The city of Bainbridge Island will host a Shoreline Master Program meeting Monday, March 24.
Officials from the Department of Ecology will present the most recent recommended changes for aquaculture in a staff intensive workshop.
“This is kind of a follow-up because there have been more recommended changes,” said City Manager Doug Schulze during Monday’s city council meeting.
Last December, the council was forced to cancel its final public hearing for the SMP pending additional changes to the draft ordinance.
The city is still waiting to receive the exact changes from Ecology, Schulze said, but planning department staff anticipates that more information will come in time for this month’s meeting.
During the hour-long session, a revised draft ordinance will be brought forward and Ecology representatives will be present to answer questions on the recommended changes.
The meeting will be conducted in a traditional study session format, with a staff intensive and discussion followed by public comment.
It will precede the regular council session from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday, March 24 at city hall.
