Andrews is candidate for Kitsap County assessor

Paul D. Andrews will run for the office of Kitsap County assessor in November.

Andrews, 46, of Port Orchard, filed as a candidate with the state Public Disclosure Commission on Feb. 3. He is the only candidate in the race so far, and is running as a Democrat.

Andrews has worked for Kitsap County for nearly 20 years. He started as a geographic information system (GIS) technician for the county in 1995, and is currently a GIS analyst.

Jim Avery is currently the assessor for Kitsap County, a post he has held since 1998.

A Port Orchard Republican, Avery was last elected in November 2010.
