The Vikings sank the Spartans with a game-winning goal with just three minutes left to play as Curtis upset Bainbridge 8-7 in boys lacrosse last week at Curtis High in University Place.

The Spartans scored first in the contest and blanked Curtis in the first quarter.

The Vikings roared back in the second with five goals and held Bainbridge to three to forge a 5-4 lead going into the intermission.

The two teams matched a pair of goals in the third quarter, and Curtis kept its one-goal margin at 7-6 going in the final quarter.

In the fourth, Bainbridge struck early in the fourth, however, and tied the game at 7-7.

Ryder Choate ripped the winning shot — his only goal of the game — at 3:17 of the fourth quarter to seal the deal for the Vikings.

Jake Knostman shouldered the Spartans’ scoring, with four goals. He also had an assist.

Kaegan Ingrasci helped the Spartans with two goals and an assist.

Alex Brydson, Jayden Todd and Trevor Warren all had two goals for the Vikings, and goalie Zach Budnick had 16 saves.
