The city of Bainbridge Island has gotten its first offer from a Washington-based company to assist the city in its search for a new city manager.
The city council fired Brenda Bauer last week from her post as city manager, and the city hopes to hire a search firm to find a new manager by March 30.
Prothman, an Issaquah-based company, had completed 37 searches in the past four years for managers or administrators. Company officials said the firm is currently recruiting managers or administrators for Stanwood, Lake Forest and Clatsop County, Ore.
The company has offered to conduct the search for Bainbridge Island’s next city manager for $18,500, plus expenses.
Six companies in all, including five from outside the state, have submitted proposals to the city.
