Boys lacrosse
Bainbridge defeated Skyline 15-6 to advance to the Division I semifinals Friday.
Cameron Parker and Henry Deery-Schmitt led the Spartans with three goals apiece.
Bainbridge (12-8) will host Bellevue (17-3) at 7 p.m. Wednesday. The Wolverines edged the Spartans in the teams’ only meeting this season 8-7 April 15.
Bellevue upended Northshore 16-7 Friday.
With a victory, the Spartans could face Issaquah – the defending state champs – or 2009 runner-up Mercer Island in the state championship at Seattle Memorial Stadium Saturday.
The Spartans were blanked by Mercer Island 13-0 March 20, and fell to Issaquah 5-2 April 23.
Water Polo
Bainbridge defeated Mercer Island 4-3 in overtime to place fifth at state.
Tied with five seconds left in overtime, goalie Amanda Swanson passed the ball to other side of the pool to Jeanette Swanson, and Swanson scored the game-winning goal.
Little League Softball
The Diamonds split a double-header, beating Key Peninsula 10-9, but losing to Gig Harbor 11-5 May 15. The Diamonds got strong pitching from Carly Lant, Lily Kraus, Anna Jones and Malia Peato.
The Diamonds beat Storm 7-6 May 18.
This game began as a pitchers duel between Natalie Allen (Storm) and Alyssa Estes (Diamonds), with each notching seven strikeouts in four innings of work. Riley Gregoire, who had a doubled and singled for the Storm. Allen with three singles, and Annika Thornburg a single. The Diamonds’ Carly Lant, Estes, Julia Groves, Riley Kulfan, Chrina Munn, and Anna Jones all hit singles.
In the bottom of the sixth inning with the Storm trailing by one run, Mo Gallagher walked and advanced to second on Lissy Navarette’s single. Gregoire then singled to center fielder Munn, who kept the ball in front of her (despite losing a contact lens), threw to shortstop Estes who made the relay throw to catcher Maddy Mikami who made the tag in a very close play at the plate to secure the win.
