Softball | Bainbridge defeats Rainier Beach in Metro opener

The Spartans improved to 2-1 overall (1-0 in the Metro) with victories over Central Kitsap and Rainier Beach on Thursday and Friday, respectively.

Senior Lauren Reichert (1-1) threw a complete game against Central Kitsap, giving up only two hits.

Hailey Willmann batted in the game-winning run in the top of the fifth.

The Spartans’ bats were out Friday as they defeated Rainier Beach 13-0 in five innings.

Bainbridge scored six runs in the bottom of the first, and added five more in the bottom of the fifth.

Kristi Worley went two-of-three from the plate with a home run and three RBIs.

Willmann, a sophomore, recorded her first win of the season.
