Council hopefuls square off in public forum Monday night

Concerned citizens filled the City Council chamber in City Hall Monday night as the nine candidates for three council positions gathered to debate the issues.

Curt Winston, Kirsten Hytopoulos and Tim Jacobsen are the South Ward candidates. Debbie Vancil, Bob Scales and Melanie Keenan are vying for the spot in the north, and Dee DuMont, Debbi Lester and Virginia Paul are running for the Central Ward position.

The council forum featured questions from the audience ranging from the city’s financial crisis, to environmental problems, to the priorities on infrastructure projects.
