Playoff Update: Spartans advance to girls lacrosse title game

Bainbridge dominated Mercer Island 23-5 Wednesday at home in a Girls Division I state semifinal match to advance to the championship game for a rematch of its 2008 state title loss to Lakeside.

Lakeside advanced to Saturday’s 2 p.m. championship game at Eastside Catholic with a 14-10 semifinal win over Roosevelt.

Sarah Shea scored first for the undefeated Spartans just 19 seconds into the game, with Marian Walk finding the net for the first time just 29 seconds later and again at 21:17 to ignite a 14-point first half for the Spartans.

Walk had seven goals and three assists, while teammates Shea, Sally Baumgartner and Jaclyn Biggers each scored three goals.
