Spartans stellar at State track and field meet

Several Spartans returned from the recent Washington Interscholastic Activities Association 2A, 3A, 4A State Championship Meet at Mount Tahoma High School having finished in the top 10 of their respective events.

Nine members of the Bainbridge High School track and field team advanced to the state competition this year, where more than 195 high school teams were represented.

Senior Carlo Ruggiero took finished in fifth place in the 3A 800-meters with a new personal record (1:54.79).

Junior Emma Brundige earned a sixth-place finish (1:00.27) in the 400-meters.

Freshman Allie Wildsmith took fifth place in the high jump (5-02.00).
