Spartans lay low Lakeside in girls golf

SEATTLE – The Bainbridge High varsity girls golf team remained undefeated Friday, besting the Lakeside Lions 102-80 in West Seattle.

The win bumped the Spartans’ overall season record to 6-0, and secured them the top spot in the Metro League standings.

Seattle Prep (5-0) is also undefeated, and in third place. Second place belongs to West Seattle and Roosevelt (6-1).

Against Lakeside, the Spartans were led by Kendall Havill and Caitlin Slattery, who both finished the day with scores of 28.

Maddie Loverich scored 23 points; Madison Culp, Lucy Hanace and Sara Colley finished at 22; and Anna Kozlosky came in at 21.

The Spartans next returned home to host Ballard Wednesday, Oct. 4. They will play Garfield, also at home, at 3:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 9.
