Spartan boys defeat Garfield 129-75 in golf

The penultimate golf outing of the Bainbridge High School boys varsity golf season was capped with a win Monday, Oct. 7, when the Spartans bested the visitors from Garfield at Wing Point Golf & Country Club, 129-75.

It was a rebound win following the island squad’s loss to Bishop Blanchet the week before, and the Spartans’ first since their debut match against O’Dea.

The win upped their overall season record to 7-2, and the last game of the regular season schedule took place, again at home, on Wednesday, against Seattle Prep.

Against Garfield, the Spartans saw a three-way tie for the best score of the day. Ben Chapman, Parker Loverich and Jasiah George each shot 41 for BHS.

Likewise, Nicholas Zambrano, Taylor Bjur and Owen Rector all shot 42 for the Spartan team.
