Island girls down 80-54 against SP Panthers

SEATTLE – The Bainbridge High girls basketball team was short 18 points in their game against the Seattle Prep Panthers Wednesday, Jan. 4. The Spartans lost 68-50, despite some strong showings from several standout shooters.

Taylor Tye had 14 points total, shooting 4-for-10 from the three-point line. Kendall Havill had five points and seven assists, and Olivia Wikstrom had 10 points and six rebounds.

It was going to be a hard game from the tip-off, said BHS Head Coach Henry Guterson, as the Panthers are known to pack a punch.

“Prep was undefeated and a very good team ranked in the top 10 of state,” said Guterson. “We were behind by three at half, but they wore us down in the fourth quarter.”
