Blue B98 conquers North Sound BU19 Division 1 league

BAINBRIDGE – The Bainbridge Island Football Club Blue B98 team, coached by Zach Conner, placed first in the North Puget Sound BU19 Division 1 League recently, capping a stellar undefeated season.

“Zach lead his team to an undefeated season [of] 10 games, soundly beating opponents by an average of six goals while only being scored against on average of only a 1/2 goal,” said team manager Michael P. Klein. “That is a differential of a total of 65 goals for versus only five scored against the team for the season.”

Goalkeeper Andy Becker did a phenomenal job in the net, Klein said. And the team was led on the field by seniors Thomas Crowley, William Dowell, Riley Dixon, Ryan Fitzgerald, Derek Klein, Jordan Manor, Ben Oliffe and Jake Prodinski.

The team is set to play in the Washington Youth Soccer Presidents Cup later this month and in February. After that, most of the players will most likely play for Bainbridge High School, Klein said.

“Most of the seniors have been playing together since grade school,” he explained. “Many of the underclassmen have also played together.”
