BHS bests Holy Names 104-91 in girls golf

BAINBRIDGE – Keep the party going, Spartans.

The Bainbridge High varsity girls golf team remained undefeated Monday, besting the visitors from Holy Names Academy 104-91 and bumping their overall season record to 3-0.

“Kendall [Havill] shot 32 points, her best,” said BHS Head Coach Ian Havill. “The rest of the team played solid. Caitlin Slattery got 25 points, which was great.”

It was, the coach said, a “good team win” over a skilled opponent, a team which includes “probably the best golfer in the league,” referring to match medalist Janine Surge, who earned 34 points.

Good as she was, even Surge’s stellar score did not dethrone the Spartans, continued, unmarred, to play Bishop Blanchet on the road Tuesday.

The BHS team will again play at home at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 26 against Ingraham.
