Bainbridge divers dazzle at AAU Invite

BEAVERTON, Oregon – Luck o’ the Irish? How about, best off the board?

Members of the Bainbridge Island Dive Club placed in the top three in multiple events at the Shamrock Spring Amateur Athletic Union Invite.

Bainbridge club divers spent St. Patrick’s Day and the weekend in Beaverton, and with the high school diving year completed, the entire team of 10 divers made the trip to Oregon for a great show of force.

Top performers included Kiernan Liberman, who claimed first place in 1-meter diving for 14-15 boys with a score of 297.65; Zora Opalka, who was second in platform diving with a score of 246.30; and Elyse Lipton, the second-place winner with a score of 148.35 in the Future Champion 3-Meter Level 5 Girls event.

The team’s next meet is in Santa Clara, California in April.
