Bob Burger, passed away April 7, 2017 at the age of 87 on Bainbridge Island, Washington. He was born in Gary, Indiana to Doris Fisher Bullock and Earl Leigh Burger. He attended Emerson School and played the trombone. He was in the Marine Reserves and received his Bachelor in Music Education at Indiana University, later completing his Masters at University of Southern California. He taught elementary school, including many years in special education, incorporating classical music into his teaching. He married Carole Konold with whom he shared a love of music, singing together in the Escondido Oratorio. They divorced, but maintained a lifelong friendship.

Bob took up sailing and taught his children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews to sail. He was a member of Silvergate Yacht Club and his “water therapy” was sailing in San Diego Bay. He is survived by his daughter, Carolyn (Raffi Minasian), granddaughters, Isabelle and Aria; son, David (Tina Reed) and granddaughter, Emma; brother, Charles (Olie); brother, Jack, and their extended families. He is predeceased by his sister, Jane.

Bob passed away peacefully surrounded by family. Our appreciation to the Wyatt House and Multicare Hospice. In accordance with his wishes, his ashes will be scattered in San Diego Bay.
