BI-Seattle ferry run was busiest route during Thanksgiving holiday

The Thanksgiving holiday week proved to be a busy one for Washington State Ferries.

The Bainbridge Island-Seattle ferry route saw the most action over the holiday, according to Amy Scarton, assistant secretary of the WSDOT Ferries Division.

The Bainbridge ferries carried more than 86,000 riders from Wednesday through Sunday of the Thanksgiving holiday week.

The second busiest route was the Kingston-Edmonds run, which logged more than 67,000 riders.

Overall, more than 340,000 people travelled on WSF ferries during the Wednesday-through-Sunday timeframe.
