Selected reports from the Bainbridge Island Police Department blotter.

SUNDAY, AUG. 25

3:18 p.m. A 57-year-old Bainbridge Island woman called police to report two Adirondack lawn chairs had been stolen from a house on Hidden Cove Road.

The woman said she’d staged the house with some outdoor lawn furniture, but upon returning several days later realized somebody had taken the chairs.

The chairs are reddish-brown and slightly weathered, estimated to be worth $60 each.

There are no suspects.

9:08 p.m. A 2018 Toyota 4Runner was found in a ditch near a private driveway on Fletcher Bay Road. The engine was still warm, but no driver was found.

Tire tracks on the shoulder showed the vehicle began leaving the road about 20 yards before the driveway. The tracks then went down into the ditch and through a thick blackberry bramble for about 20 more yards before it struck the base of a large tree.

The registered owner did not answer the phone or return calls from police.

The vehicle was impounded. It sustained minor damage to the exterior and one light was shattered. The mailbox at the nearby driveway was knocked down as well.

A report was filed.
