Bainbridge blotter | Honest, polite and DUI

Selected reports from the Bainbridge Island Police Department blotter.

SATURDAY, NOV. 17

2:04 a.m. A 55-year-old Bainbridge man arrested for DUI was found to have an outstanding felony warrant out for lack of child support.

The man was seen speeding and driving across the fog and yellow median lines first near Lovgreen Road, then Sportsman Club Road and Weaver Road.

The man smelled of alcoholic beverages, but said it was his three passengers who had been drinking. He was driving them home. He said he’d only had two drinks that night.

Asked to perform a field sobriety test, he complied and did poorly.

He blew a .100 on the breathalyzer test and was arrested for DUI and his warrant. He was processed at the Bainbridge Island Police Station, where he was “remarkably cooperative, honest and polite,” and then transported to Kitsap County Jail where he was booked for DUI and his warrant. Bail was set at $5,000 as he had no previous DUI offenses. Bail for the warrant offense was set at $250.
