‘The Alaska Suite’ to be presented at Grace

“The Alaska Suite — a story of beauty, loss and hope,” will be performed at Grace Episcopal Church in October.

The performance is set for 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13. “The Alaska Suite” features a five-piece chamber jazz ensemble performing original music of Seattle pianist and composer Nelda Swiggett (http://neldaswiggett.com/).

Combining the emotional power of multiple mediums — live music, spoken words, images and poetry — “The Alaska Suite” celebrates the beauty and majesty of Alaska; laments the rapid impacts of global warming in Alaska and all the Arctic; alerts the audience to similar impacts where they live; and most importantly, uplifts spirits with reasons for hope and calls to action.

The concert experience is being co-sponsored by Grace Episcopal Church, Cedars UUC, Eagle Harbor Congregational Church and Earth Ministry. Tickets are $15 and are available at Eagle Harbor Books or at the door.
