Island agents take Seattle prize

Seattle magazine recently partnered with Five Star Professionals, a national research company that awards top professionals. Islanders proved they could stand up against their big city competition.

Bainbridge Island might be a smaller city compared to some of its neighbors, but it proved it can hold its own against professionals in the big city.

Seattle magazine recently partnered with Five Star Professionals, a national research company that awards top professionals.

Together the two organizations identified Seattle-area agents in the real estate, mortgage and insurance fields worthy of a Five Star Award. These professionals excel above and beyond in their service and customer satisfaction.

But the awards hopped the ferry across the Puget Sound this year to honor some of Bainbridge Island’s own agents.

Linda Sutherland of Eagle Home Mortgage and Carolyn Frame of the Guild Mortgage Company were two mortgage professionals who took a 2012 prize for their superior service.

Independent insurance agent Linna Callaham — and her Great Dane Dani — were honored as Five Star winners as well.

The island’s real estate agents were also given quite a few professional thumbs up.

Leah Applewhite and Arthur Mortell represented Coldwell Banker well. Eileen Black and Grace McKinnon-Weeks took the prize for John L. Scott. Windermere Real Estate was represented well with awards for Terry Klein, Jim Peek, Ana Richards, Ellin Spenser and Diane Sugden. Don Rooks of Realogics Sotheby’s International Reality was also honored for his work in the real estate field.
