Bainbridge police are investigating a break-in at a Hildebrand Lane business where thieves made off with a large safe sometime overnight Thursday, Dec. 11.

The offices of The Property Management Group in the 911 Hildebrand Building were burglarized sometime after 8 p.m. Thursday and 8 a.m. Friday, said Bainbridge Police Officer Ben Sias.

The case is under investigation and details were sparse. Sias said a large safe, which would have taken two people to move, was stolen.

Fingerprints were found on a window, but Sias said police were still determining how the burglars got into the building, which is also home to Bainbridge Island Ambulance, a Kitsap Physical Therapy office and the Bainbridge Review.

Other businesses in the building were not burglarized.

Sias said police would review video camera footage from banks that are adjacent to the building.

The managers of the 911 Hildebrand Building plan to change the locks on the building Friday afternoon.
