Proceeds of dental cleanings will be donated to restoration effort

Fairy Tale Dental has offered to donate the proceeds from 10 dental cleanings to the Fort Ward Community Hall restoration project in January.

Patients who wish to pay for their cleaning in cash (insurance will not be accepted) will be given the option to specify if they would like their payment to go to the preservation of the historic park facility.

Dr. Helena Soomer-Lincoln of Fairy Tale Dental and her family are residents of the Historic Fort Ward neighborhood.

“I am very committed to the historic preservation of our neighborhood and I am thrilled that the youth of Fort Ward have taken such a strong role in it,” Soomer-Lincoln said. “I love their passionate presentations and the way they have rallied support to the project.”

The Fort Ward Community hall will see renovation of the fort’s 1910 bakery building, an island heritage site. When finished, it will be the first community hall at the island’s south end, joining a roster of local historic park facilities.
