BPA to host first ever ‘Last Comedy Show Ever’

The first event at Bainbridge Performing Arts in 2017 may also turn out to be the funniest.

The inaugural “Last Comedy Show Ever,” a two-day performance event featuring four of the top touring comedians in the country, will take over the island stage at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 13 and Saturday, Jan. 14.

Friday’s lineup includes David Crowe and Peter Greyy. On tap Saturday are Rodney Sherwood and Brett Hamil.

Sharing the stage both nights will be comedian and radio host Dan Rosenberg, improv actor Jon Hibbs and musician and “expert on everything” Raffi Minasian for a live, unique and improvised “radio” show — complete with interviews with the four comedians.

Tickets, $25 per person per night or $45 for a two-night combo ticket can be purchased at www.bainbridgeperformingarts.org or via 206-842-8569.

Greyy is a professional touring comedian, an effective comedy coach, and the director of talent for both the San Francisco Comedy Competition and the Seattle International Comedy Competition. Once described as “The Godfather of Alt-Comedy in Seattle,” he has performed across the continent in comedy clubs, theaters, and festivals – including multiple performances at both the Bridgetown Comedy Festival and the Bumbershoot Music & Arts Festival.

Crowe is a 20-year veteran of the comedy stage. After winning both the Seattle and San Francisco Comedy Competitions, then performing for a U.S. President the same year, his career took off and has never stopped. On stage Crowe is armed with a “gallery of facial expressions,” a host of accents and a “nerdy charisma that is utterly captivating.” He has been featured on Showtime with his own one-hour comedy special “Crooked Finger,” along with numerous appearances on Comedy Central, Bob&Tom Radio, SiriusXM and Pandora.

Hamil is a standup comic, writer and talk show host based in Seattle where The Stranger called him “a truly treasured ham.” He’s also a columnist and cartoonist for City Arts Magazine. His sketches and political commentary videos spun off into a quarterly talk show at the Northwest Film Forum, “The Seattle Process,” for which the Seattle Weekly called him “the city’s premier political comic.”

Sherwood is an Emmy Award-winning performer and runner up in the Seattle International Comedy Competition. A touring comedian for more than 20 years, he has performed all over the world. In addition to comedy, Sherwood is an accomplished television and motion picture actor seen on TV’s “Grimm,” “Leverage,” “Friends” and “That ’70s Show.” He has recently appeared in the movies “Seven Minutes,” “The Architect” and “Grassroots.”
