Make your voice heard now on impeachment | Letter to the editor

To the editor:

Please email or call Senator Murray, Senator Cantwell and Rep. Kilmer every day asking them to vote to impeach the president and then remove him from the presidency. We need to be clear.

The Constitution Article II, Section 4:

“The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.”

June 3, 2016, Donald Trump Jr. emailed, “If it’s what you say I love it…” when asked if he would like to meet with Russians and get dirt on Hilary Clinton.

June 20, 2019, President Trump said about possibly getting information from foreign powers about an opponent, “they have information — I think I’d take it,” ABCNews: https://abcn.ws/2rFC8tr

Receiving help from another country to become president is a high crime on its own — an abuse of power.

This is the bribery part:

Congress — and the president — passed a law to give around $400 million to aid Ukraine in defending itself from Russia taking more of its territory.

By July 3, the president withheld the aid.

Aug. 28, the Politico article https://politi.co/2PirqBW came out exposing that.

Sept. 9, three House committees started an investigation into the issue as result, then…

Sept. 11, the aid was released. https://nyti.ms/35lmm5y

The president had never withheld aid to Ukraine before — even under its very corrupt previous president. Why withhold it now?

Why ask for an official announcement into investigations into the son of your political opponent at the same time in an American general election year?

Why ask for an official announcement about the investigation? President Zelensky worked on scheduling an interview with CNN. Why not send local U.S. officials in to make sure that it took place? Why such a public forum if it was not intended to politically benefit the president? Because that was the point.

Please call or email. Let’s be clear.
