Bainbridge Symphony Orchestra and conductor Mario Alejandro Torres will present a program dedicated to a pair of composers who have stood bravely against oppression and canalized the importance of this message through their works.

“Rebellion!” will be on stage at Bainbridge Performing Arts at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 13 and 3 p.m. Sunday, April 14.

A pre-concert chat is offered at 2:15 p.m. Sunday, April 14.

Received with great acclaim at their premieres, Finnish composer Jean Sibelius’ “Finlandia” and Czech composer Antonín Dvořák’s “Symphony No. 7 in D minor” lived on to establish a legacy that immortalized the composers.

The program will also showcase Emily Jeeho Park, winner of BSO’s 2019 Young Artist Concerto Competition, in a performance of Edvard Grieg’s “Piano concerto in A minor, Op. 16.”
