Soccer gear sent to Uganda refugees | Letters | Nov. 20

Many thanks to Ian McCallum, director of coaching at Bainbridge Island Youth Soccer Club, for organizing a soccer cleat and balls donation drive, and those that donated.

One package – including cleats, balls, training bibs, cones, first-aid kit and school supplies – has been sent to a very grateful girls team from a refugee camp in Uganda.

More boxes of the same will be going out next week to a girls youth team from the slums of Casablanca, and in Morocco and Guinea.
