Island poet to read at Eagle Harbor Book Co.

Bainbridge-based poet David Hecker will celebrate the launch of his first book of poems, “Natural Affinities,” comprised of poems written over a 15-year period, at Eagle Harbor Book Company next week.

The event is 7 p.m. Thursday, June 15.

Hecker had published poems in various journals, including Exhibition, Paper Boat, Poets West, Ars Poetica and Cirque Journal, and has received awards for individual poems from National League of American Pen Women Seattle Branch and the Washington Poets Association. He has attended poets’ workshops at Centrum, Hugo House and The Strawberry Hill group on Bainbridge Island.

Hecker lives on Bainbridge with wife Helen.
