Not just during Military Appreciation events, but throughout the year, we welcome our active service members, our retired veterans and our future leaders that are separating from service by providing the best possible lifestyle with established neighborhoods, new housing units along walkable sidewalks and streets with bike lanes, 35 city parks and the best police and fire protection.

The legacy of the City of Bremerton is the heritage of our Naval Base and Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility.

From their beginning 125 years ago, this important and strategic base has been the home to thousands of sailors, Marines and Coast Guard members.

Our military men and women operate our ships and submarines at sea and all station positions ashore. The residents, business owners, government and public employees support these courageous military members and have created a vibrant quality of life for their families.

I feel we are following in the footsteps of these unsung heroes by using their motto: “Ready Then, Ready Now, Ready Always.”
