To the editor:
I am a retired Methodist pastor and a member of the Bainbridge Island Kiwanis Club who sells Christmas wreaths every year. This year my duty has been at the Rite Aid store on the island.
Brrrrr! It was freezing cold on Saturday, Nov. 19, but we had our wreaths outside the store. John Jay, our club president, and I were beginning to wonder if we’d be able to endure the three hours we had committed ourselves to serving.
We’d been outside for 15 minutes when Rose, the manager, came out and said: “Get inside here, it’s too cold for you to do anything useful outside.”
Boy! Were we grateful to have a Rite Aid store with compassion.
Just wanted to thank them through the Island Review.
