To the editor:

This letter is in support for Wayne Roth for city council.

My relationship with Wayne started with my work as a volunteer with the Marge Williams Center in 1998, shortly after I arrived on the island. Wayne was also a volunteer as was Wayne’s wife, Kathleen Alcala. In time, Kathleen and I became board members of the Marge Center.

What impressed me about Wayne was his  integrity, being a good listener, transparency in public affairs, and solid personal values. About those values, which are key elements that stay with us in public and private matters. Wayne’s values are best described as a straight-talker, consistency, honesty and a person who comes to a meeting having done his homework.

My conclusion, Wayne Roth is an excellent candidate for city council.
