Bainbridge blotter | Police find stolen bike

Selected reports from the Bainbridge Police Department blotter.

MONDAY, SEPT. 19

8:46 a.m. A deer was hit by two vehicles going in opposite directions on Highway 305.

A 2015 Toyota Highland headed north struck the deer, launching it into a 2004 Ford Econoline van, which was moving south.

Both cars suffered damage to the front hood and bumper areas.

The deer was killed immediately and was found dead on the roadside.

The drivers were not injured.

9 a.m. A 57-year-old Bainbridge Island man reported his laptop and computer bag had been stolen.

He’d left the bag with the computer in it, inside of his car, he said, which he’d parked on Winslow Way near the Winslow Mall while stopping at a bakery for coffee.

The man said he was only gone 15 minutes, and thought he had locked the car — but then said he must have either forgotten to do it or the electronic button on his keys malfunctioned. A report was filed.
