Umbrella angel makes ferry trip wonderful | LETTER TO THE EDITOR

To the editor:
Thank you to the umbrella angel. I had just figured out how to dry my hair in the Dyson hand dryer at the ferry terminal after a deluge walking to the 8:10 on Sunday.
All was wonderful after a sweet couple let me play with their delightful 3-month-old daughter for a few minutes. The Xmas spirit was good.
As we debarked, a fellow said “Mum, you don’t want to forget your umbrella.” There was a sole umbrella on a chair. I said, “It isn’t mine, but I could use it. I leave them on the bus all the time.”
He said “Taike it. Meebe it’s one of your’s come back to you.”
I may have not gotten the accent right, but I want to give my holiday gratitude to his kind effort (it saved me on my mile trek to my parking place), and to the person who left a blue Mary Poppins-style umbrella with a curved handle on the ferry. Thank you.
