Cheryl Ann Nelson passed away peacefully on Aug. 3, 2015 while on vacation in Butte, Montana.
She was born in November 1950, in Oakland, California, to her loving parents Earl and Verna.
Cheryl graduated from Lake Washington High School and went on to attend Western Washington University. After college she acquired a passion for travel when she was an agent for Doug Fox Travel. Next Cheryl opened her antique store, Old Lace, on Bainbridge Island.
Soon after her son was born, she closed the doors to Old Lace and helped her husband expand his business. For the last 15 years she was known as the “Jam Lady” at the Bainbridge Island Farmers Market.
Her effervescent and loving generosity was shared with all. She donated her time and love to anyone who needed it, always putting others first. She was the epitome of a “class act.” Her vivacious caring soul will be sorely missed.
She is survived by her beloved husband Mike; her son Andy; mother Verna; sisters Linda and Michelle; brother Skip; and extended family.
A celebration of her life for friends and family will be held at her home at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26.
Cheryl’s family would like to thank all the people who reached out with their thoughts and prayers.
