When visiting artists attend Bloedel Reserve’s Creative Residency they are given cozy accommodations and unlimited access to the grounds — and now, thanks to an anonymous donor, artists have a car at their disposal as well: a 2008 lime green smart car.

“This is a tremendous gift and we are so thankful for the donor,” said Erin Jennings, Bloedel Reserve’s outreach manager. “

The car gives residents the freedom to explore the region, run errands and not be isolated. Before, artists from out of state depended on staff to run them into town. Now, they can go when the fancy strikes.”
