Mulhern earns our enthusiastic support | LETTER TO THE EDITOR

To the editor:

By offering herself for the open city council position, Pegeen Mulhern gives Bainbridge residents an opportunity to add a very thoughtful, hardworking leader to our local government.

We are enthusiastically supporting Pegeen.

We have known Pegeen and her family for many years and have been consistently impressed by her values and integrity, as well as her sincere commitment to the well-being of the community.

Pegeen has a long record of public service through a variety of citizen committees, the Girl Scouts, and church and sports boards. She’s rolled up her sleeves and done her homework on the issues facing the island, showing seasoned and balanced judgment. Pegeen is prepared to make hard decisions but she also has a rare capacity to listen to other points of view and find common ground.

It’s been very encouraging to see our city council become more deliberative, effective and open in recent times.

We know Pegeen well enough to be confident she will contribute to this positive trend.
