BAINBRIDGE – Classic Cycle will present “State of the Art” — a showcase of frame and component designs that have been labeled “cutting edge” throughout history — from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20.
Check out everything ever labeled “the latest,” including bikes that have been glued, bolted and even tied together.
The program will also take a look at bicycles made out of aluminum (before anyone knew how to weld it) and bicycles flash-cast out of magnesium (a new frame in only 7 seconds).
Missteps and real advances in plastic, carbon, steel and titanium bicycle construction will be on display to highlight how technology and style have changed the bike industry over the decades.
A reception starts at 5, with the program at 5:30 p.m.
Classic Cycle is located at 740 Winslow Way East.
