Navy seeks comment regarding environmental impact statement

The Navy is inviting the public to attend informational meetings for the Northwest Training and Testing (NWTT) Draft Environmental Impact Statement/Overseas Environmental Impact Statement (EIS/OEIS).
The Navy has prepared the Draft EIS/OEIS to evaluate the potential environmental impacts of military readiness, training and testing activities conducted primarily within existing range complexes, operating areas and testing ranges in the NWTT study area.
Eight public meetings will be held, in open house-style sessions, throughout the region to inform the public about the Navy’s proposed action and findings in the Draft EIS/OEIS, and to solicit public comments on the environmental analysis.
Meetings will be held in the following Washington locations and times:
Wednesday, Feb. 26
Oak Harbor High School, Student Union Building, 1 Wildcat Way, Oak Harbor;
Thursday, Feb. 27
Cascade High School Student Commons, 801 E. Casino Road, Everett; and
Friday, Feb. 28
North Kitsap High School Commons, 1780 NE Hostmark St., Poulsbo.
Sessions begin at 5 p.m. with an informational presentation by Navy representatives to take place at 6:30 p.m. Comments will be accepted throughout.
