Selected reports from the Bainbridge Island Police Department blotter.
THURSDAY, AUG. 18
4:10 p.m. Three cars were pushed into a series of rear endings by an as-yet-unidentified driver in a Gold Acura at the intersection of Highway 305 and Day Road East.
A line of cars was stopped at the intersection when the Acura came up behind, striking a 2004 Infiniti, which in turn struck the car in front of it, which also struck the rear of the car in front of it. The Acura drove off, though all three drivers in the affected vehicles agreed on the description of the man in the Acura and at least one noted the license plate number.
6:46 p.m. A 35-year-old Poulsbo cyclist crashed into a 27-year-old Poulsbo man on a Honda motorcycle near the intersection of Highway 305 and Sportsman Club Road.
The motorcycle rider said he saw the cyclist traveling northbound down the hill very quickly toward him but that he was in fact able to stop before the bike rider struck him. The cyclist swerved over the line, however, and struck the biker. The cyclist said he was unable to brake in time. He was transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for a medical evaluation.
