Bainbridge blotter | Teenagers in trouble

Selected reports from the Bainbridge Island Police Department blotter.

THURSDAY, JULY 28

8:02 a.m. A large, dark green SUV was traveling southbound on Fletcher Bay Road NE and pulled into a driveway where an unattended flower stand was situated. The vehicle collided with a red Radio Flyer Wagon, breaking off its front two wheels. A neighbor saw someone exit the car, steal a bouquet of flowers, and flee in their car.

1:55 p.m. A police officer was flagged down next to the Starbucks on High School Road. A 57-year-old Bainbridge Island reported that a 52-year-old Bainbridge Island man had threatened to kill him. He had been sitting next to Starbucks when the brother of the suspect came up and started talking to him. Then the suspect walked over to him and said, “I’m going to kill you.” The suspect was visibly drunk and was carrying a beer in each hand.

The victim said that the suspect is “not very nice when he is drunk.” The victim mentioned several times throughout his conversation with the police officer that he was afraid of the man and wished the police could arrest him and take him to jail. The police advised the man to look into obtaining an anti-harassment order.
