It is “Open House Season” for private schools on Bainbridge, and island families can take tours of the different facilities during the next few weeks.
The first open house is planned at The Island School, at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 26; call 206-842-0400 for information.
The next will be at Saint Cecilia Catholic School on Sunday, Jan. 31. Contact Principal Susan Kilbane at skilbane@saintceciliaschool.org for more information or call the school at 206-842-2017.
Carden Country School will have an open house from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 4.
Stephanie Rohl, director of Carden Country School, has also partnered with other private schools on the island to open their campuses to the public between 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 6.
It’s a chance for residents to tour the campuses, peruse the curriculum and ask questions on their own schedule.
Participating schools include Carden Country School (K-8), Montessori Country School (1-5), Madrona School (K-8), Saint Cecilia Catholic School (K-8), Leaps and Bounds (2½-K), Island Children’s Montessori School, Hazel Creek Montessori and The Island School (K-5).
Feb. 6 is also the date for Madrona School’s annual Hearts & Crafts Fair, which will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The school will be open and Missi Goss (head of school) and Jennifer Evens (enrollment coordinator) will be on hand to talk with prospective families. There will also be crafts, music, food and puppet shows.
