Once again, as it has for the past 42 years, the last Sunday in February arrived on schedule and meant only one thing to anybody on the road on Bainbridge Island: It was Chilly Hilly time again.

The annual 33-mile bicycle event celebrated it’s 43rd year in 2014, and saw the usual influx of riders from Seattle that has become part of the event. It has proven a popular Bainbridge Island attraction, drawing a record-setting crowd of 6,029 riders in 2010. Each year riders have come from far and wide to participate, including some from Alaska, Iowa, Nevada and New York.
